Recipients of the Josh Klukie Award

The Josh Klukie award was started several years ago as a memorial to one of our graduating students in 2003, named Josh Klukie. Josh joined the Canadian Armed Forces and went off the middle east and was killed by a road-side bomb. 

Paramedic Devin Doran from Thunder Bay started this award to recognize his friend and co-worker. The award winners would reflect the following characteristics: be a long-standing citizen of Northern, Ontario, be involved in sports, extra curricular activities, be a high academic achiever and gets along well with their fellow classmates. 

This year, the award was split between a regional graduating student Ryan Daubney representing our Fort Frances, Dryden and Kenora campuses, and Johnny Zanutto from our Thunder Bay campus...

Health Sciences - Paramedic

2-year, Ontario College Diploma Program

Paramedic

Paramedics provide help in emergency situations. As a paramedic student, you will develop skill and knowledge to practice emergency pre-hospital medical care and to function as an integral member of the health team assisting victims of accident or illness.

During your training, you will demonstrate the ability to apply relevant theory, practice safety competently, and comply with current legislation, regulations, standards, and established policies and procedures.

If you enjoy caring for and assisting others, are able to work well under pressure and in emergency situations, and believe in a healthy lifestyle, this profession could be ideal for you! Paramedic careers exist in every city in every province.
