1994 President, Confederation College Student Association:
One of the most exciting learning experiences of my life ... the International Business Program pushed me beyond my expectations. When I first began the program I naively imagined what International Business meant. How do explain to someone the worth of limitless opportunity? Yes, the course was challenging.. but it was coupled with extensive opportunities. Perhaps the best part of Confederation College was my Professors and classmates. I have never before encountered such a diverse group of intelligent and multi-talented individuals. We all work together, supporting and motivating each other to new heights. Indeed, it was this sense of a community in pursuit of excellence which makes Confederation College such an incredible place to pursue an education.
I've earned my wings.. Since graduating I've lived and worked in many places in the world. During my first year in the program I visited England, Ireland, Wales and Mexico. I finished my diploma in Mexico during an exchange program with EBC. Upon graduation I went back to Mexico where I worked for the National Railroad as their Director of Contract Negotiation (In Spanish'€¦) . After living in Mexico for six years I moved back to Canada and worked for Saskatchewan Trade and Export Partnership as Trade Specialist, Mexico and Western Europe. During my time in Saskatchewan I began importing products from Mexico and have been operating my own business for four years.
I believe exporting is the door to our future. We need our youth to understand languages, culture, and business practices. The College provides students the opportunity to develop their own confidence, knowledge and courage to face our 'always' changing world. Students in the Business - International Business program are armed with tools that will guide them through life and take them to heights they never imagined they would reach.
