How to Apply as an International Student

Step 1: Submit Your Application

Step 2: Application Processing

Step 3: Understanding Your Status

Step 4: Tuition Fee Payment

Step 1: Submit Your Application

To apply, please visit the Confederation College International application portal and follow the step-by-step application process. The application is accompanied by a $95.00 non-refundable application fee, payable through the application portal via credit card. After paying your application fee, please ensure to press the “Submit” button to ensure that your application is successfully submitted.

Please note that this portal is separate from the domestic Ontario Colleges website.  International students must use the above link to apply; DO NOT apply through Ontario Colleges, which is for domestic students.

Please have the following documentation ready when you apply. You can return at any time to complete your application if you are waiting for any further paperwork.

  1. Copies of high school, college and/or university transcripts and diplomas and/or degrees, in their original language AND translated into English;
  2. Copy of your English proficiency result for all students whose first language is not English (visit the English Proficiency Requirements webpage for more information);
  3. A copy of a valid passport (page with photo and associated details).

If you are an agent applying on behalf of a student and you do not have a signed agreement with us, please visit the Contact Us webpage to connect with one of our in-country representatives.

Step 2: Application Processing

Applications will be assessed once the application has been submitted and all required documents are received. Please be aware that submission of an application does NOT guarantee that you will receive a Letter of Acceptance (LOA).

Applications are considered based on a combination of time of application and academics, and will close once the program is full.

The processing time for applications is within five business days of receiving it. During peak times (beginning and end of term), applicants may experience a delay in processing times.

Step 3: Understanding Your Status

After submitting your application, you may receive one of the following responses:

Closed: We are unable to extend you an Letter of Acceptance (LOA) for your program choice, as the program is now full.

Needs More Information: Your application is incomplete and additional documentation is required to assess your eligibility. This status will be accompanied by an indication of what documentation is required.

Waitlist: We are still accepting applications for your program choice, however, we have exceeded the number of available program seats. There is a change that we may extend more LOA’s, but this generally does not happen until existing LOA’s expire and we can assess the number of payments and/or visa approvals received for the program.

There are several types of LOA’s:

Offer: An offer is an LOA with no conditions attached.

Conditional Offer: A conditional offer indicates certain requirements are outstanding. Your LOA will outline the conditions that must be met to earn a seat in your confirmed program choice.

Step 4: Tuition Fee Payment

To confirm your acceptance into Confederation College, you must pay your first semester tuition fees by the deadline listed on your Letter of Acceptance (LOA). Once this tuition deadline has passed, your offer is no longer valid.

Please allow 3-5 business days for our institution to receive overseas tuition fee payments.

To make a payment from outside of Canada, please visit the How to Make a Payment webpage for detailed instructions.

If you plan to pay your tuition fees from within Canada, please email internationaladmissions@confederationcollege.ca for further information.
