Annual Awards Recognition Reception - Student Recipients Received Scholarships, Bursaries & Awards

February 23, 2012 - Financial supporters from the community and surrounding area were on hand to see over $181,000 in scholarships, bursaries, and awards provided to 377 deserving Confederation College students at the annual Awards Recognition Reception.


161 Academic Upgrading Students will be Recognized for their Achievements during the Program's Learner Recognition Day

December 2, 2011 - Confederation College along with Negahneewin College of Academic and Community Development celebrated and recognized the accomplishments of 161 students from its Academic Upgrading program today with a formal "graduation" ceremony.


Community Members Celebrate Opening of REACH

August 25, 2011 - The Honourable Michael Gravelle, Minister of Northern Development, Mines and Forestry, MPP Thunder Bay-Superior North and Bill Mauro, MPP for Thunder Bay-Atikokan, were at Confederation College in Thunder Bay today to officially open the Regional Education Alliance for Community Heath (REACH) building.

 


 

Tbaytel Supports Northern Health Education through REACH

June 29, 2011 - Confederation College celebrated a $100,000 contribution today from Tbaytel to the Regional Education Alliance for Community Health (REACH) facility that will house programs within the School of Health and Community Services this fall.

Student Recipients Receive 431 Scholarships, Awards and Bursaries During the Confederation College Annual Awards Recognition Reception

February 9, 2011 -  Confederation College hosted its annual awards recognition reception today where donor representatives were recognized and 363 deserving student recipients received 431 Scholarships, Awards, and Bursaries totalling over $190,000.


REACH Project Construction Nearing Completion Date

December 16, 2010 - Confederation College gave people a sneak peek at their latest construction project, REACH (Regional Education Alliance for Community Health) today at a ceremony launching their fundraising campaign and recognizing the leadership contribution made by the John Andrews Foundation.


Confederation College TNT (Trades and Technology) Renewal and McIntyre Building Renovation Complete

December 2, 2010 - Completed TNT (Trades and Technology) renovations to the McIntyre Building on Confederation College's Thunder Bay campus were officially unveiled today at a media conference and open house. The J. Armand Bombardier Foundation made a leadership contribution of $150,000 towards the TNT project, specifically in the provision of new machinery and enhanced technology throughout the buildings that host trades and technology programs.

Confederation College and The Confederation College Foundation celebrated the grand opening of the Centre for Applied Media Production (CAMP) on Friday, November 17th, 2006 in the Student Lounge of the Shuniah Building on the Thunder Bay campus. Confederation College President Patricia Lang, CAMP donors and partners, and representatives from the CAMP program including Don Lovisa, Dean of the School of Business, Hospitality and Media Arts spoke at the events.

Canada's largest media company, CanWest Global Communications Corp., announced today it is donating $150,000 to the Confederation College Foundation in Thunder Bay to assist in the establishment of Confederation’s Centre of Applied Media Production (CAMP), one of the most advanced media arts education facilities in Canada.


Contributions from NOHFC and SUCCI

April 27, 2006 — The Centre for Applied Media Production, Canada’s most innovative media arts education facility, received two significant contributions from NOHFC and SUCCI...

These contributions toward the project’s capital campaign were presented at a ceremony held at the college.  Michael Gravelle, Thunder Bay – Superior North MPP and Bill Mauro, Thunder Bay – Atikokan MPP and Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Northern Development and Mines announced that the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC) is investing $875,000 towards the project. 

A significant contribution to CAMP from within the college was also announced.  The Confederation College Student Union is providing $250,000 in funding to the new Centre for Applied Media Production.  "We believe providing leading edge equipment, infrastructure and new learning resources will greatly benefit our students,” said Student Union President Chris Koza.
